Home Depot Aircraft Display

On Saturday, May 2, 2009, a total of 15 airplanes taxied their way to The Home Depot via North Pointe Drive and State Route 60 for display. A live remote was done by 107.3 radio.  In addition, Home Depot gave away 2 gas grills and Parr Airport gave away 3 gift certificates for free airplane rides.  Winners of the free rides were: Clay Whissen, Timmy Whaley and Samuel Hartman.  Thanks to all airplane owners who participated in this great event!

 

Wings & Wheels 2009

The next Wings & Wheels Show will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Parr Airport.  Registration will begin at 11:00 am through 1:30 pm with an entry fee of $5.  Cars must be at least 25 years old to participate and we have lifted the age limit for aircraft to encourage more participation! We will once again award Viewer’s Choice Award trophies to the top voted car and airplane and will have a candy drop for the kids.  Other activities for the day include rides in a 1940 Piper Cub, as well as regular aircraft for only $25/pp, a concession stand serving homemade ice cream, a half & half drawing, and music.  Please plan to bring your families and lawn chairs and join us for a day of fun!

 Reception

On Saturday, July 18, 2009, following the EAA Drive-in/Fly-in Pancake Breakfast, we will be hosting a reception to honor Chuck Norman as he celebrates 50 years as a Flight Instructor. Please plan to join us in this exciting celebration beginning at
3:00 p.m.

 

Kellogg’s 5K Road Race & 1 Mile Fun Walk

We are joining the Kellogg’s Team this year for their 5K Road Race and 1 Mile Fun Walk planned for Saturday, July 25, 2009. Participants will actually be walking or running the runway at Parr as part of their course! Registration is only $10 and all proceeds benefit Christ’s Table. You can contact Tim Simon for more information or to register at 740-450-9317. This event will be a part of the Team Godspeed events happening in this area throughout the summer.
